I grew up coming to Big Meadows lodge and enjoyed bringing my own children here over the weekend. The views are breathtaking. Plenty of hiking trails nearby. Lots of deer and chipmonks around. The lodge is rustic, if you don't go expecting luxury you will enjoy yourself. We had breakfast in the lodge every morning, service was a little slow but not enough to keep us from returning. All in all I highly recommend Big Meadows Lodge.

Very appreciative of the restaurants on site however the food was not great. The pizza was clearly frozen and came out almost cold. Sent it back and second pizza came out the same way so I just dealt with it. Still would stay there again as it's a nice central location in the park and pet friendly. Thank you NPS for allowing dogs!!! I love taking my best friend everywhere with me.

Loved the location in the park and the modest rooms. So happy to stay there and support the park service.

The lodge building itself is simple, rustic and a beautiful setting. The attached restaurant is cozy with a mountain lodge feel. The view is beautiful and there is plenty of great hiking nearby. The overnight amenities in the traditional room are adequate, just don't expect a modern well kept feel. With old carpet, visible rust, and a rustic structure, it's just not the same as a standard hotel. But then again, if you're looking to stay here you're not looking for a standard hotel. Still very cozy and a great mountain get away.

Fantastic!!!!! Great views, wildlife right at your doorstep literally. We didn't stay at the lodge but we visited for the evening and we loved it. There's a place to dine, use the restroom, climb up a short but steep hill to take awesome photos. Worth the drive. Looking forward to returning.

The location is the biggest advantage, especially since you get to stay right inside the park! Grab a great breakfast cooked for you, and head straight onto the skyline drive. We were able to see a bunch of deer ambling around close to the parking spots. The lodge room is a little outdated, but gives a rustic feeling and we can see the blue ridge mountains from the balcony!
